Recycling at ecoshit – well thought out from start to finish

When you buy a product, you rarely think about what will happen to it later. At ecoshit, things are different: Right from the development stage of our composting toilets, we consider the entire life cycle – from initial use to environmentally friendly recycling.
Our key question is: How can the product be disassembled and recycled easily and sustainably?

Recycling already considered during the design

At ecoshit the principle applies: sorted waste instead of hazardous waste .
That is why we deliberately avoid adhesives, mixed materials and plastic combinations that are difficult to separate.

Instead, we use pure plastics such as polypropylene (PP) or ABS. These materials are known worldwide, easily recyclable, and easy to sort.
In our DIY instructions, we also ensure that no adhesives or silicone are required – all parts can be mechanically assembled and later disassembled.

Built to last – but nothing lasts forever

Our composting toilets are weatherproof, sturdy, and designed to last.
With regular cleaning and dry storage, they will last for many years.
But at some point every product reaches the end of its life cycle – and then the question arises: What should we do with it?

Option 1: Return to ecoshit

The simplest and most sustainable solution is to return it to us.
We know our products down to the last screw and can process the materials professionally.
That means:

• pure separation of components,
• Reuse of functional parts,
• environmentally friendly disposal of unusable residues.

Option 2: Recycling center or bulky waste

Alternatively, you can also take your composting toilet to a recycling center or bulky waste collection point.
Because our models are made from pure materials, they can be easily recycled there – without special treatment and without chemicals.

Conclusion: The end is part of the beginning

At ecoshit, sustainability doesn’t end after the purchase – it begins there.
Our products are designed so that they cannot be disposed of at the end of their life, but can be reused or recycled.
This creates a closed cycle – for real, lived sustainability.
